  • Cable Clutch Conversion Kit – OEM Eurovan actuator and custom cable for 02a/02j
  • MK1 Hydraulic Clutch kit- Bolt in Hydro upgrade vs cable for mk1, uses the mk1 pedal cluster
  • Billet MAF/MAP Ports – Integrate your MAF or MAP sensor into your air plumbing with these weld in ports.
  • 1.8t Timing belt kit – you will need a manual tensioner kit for your mk1 1.8t install, grab it here and it ships with your other parts.
  • 100mm axle flanges for your 1.8t or vr6 transmission. They come stock with 108mm, swapping to 100mm cups will allow you to run a stock mk1 axle set.

Other Items to Consider for a Swap:

  • S&P Radiators – these are designed to use the mk3 vr6 or mk4 coolant hose locations to ease plumbing routing, and hose options
  • Downpipes – we offer 1.8t and TDI downpipes made to fit in your mk1 chassis
  • Wiring/Software – Send us your harness for modification, we will send it back ready to wrap, lay, and run your swap.  We also can take care of your ECU tuning needs.

MK4 4CYL ENGINE MOUNT INTO MK1

Allows you to use the factory mk1 engine mount location and factory mount bushing with any 4cyl internal waterpump VW based engine (1.8t 2.0NA 1.9TDI, 2.0T,  )

 

Includes hardware to mount the bracket to motor, we also offer mount bushings in HD and Poly, and can press them in for you, ready to go out of the box!

Mk1 1.8t Manual Tensioner and Timingbelt Kit – optional

When installing a 1.8t into your mk1, the new motor mount bracket will not allow you to keep the hydraulic timing belt tensioner that the mk4 1.8t cars used.  This Contitech timing belt kit will allow you to remove the hydraulic tensioner and roller, and install the mk1 1.8t motor mount bracket.  You can also get a kit with a metal impeller water pump to complete your pre-install timing belt service. (Waterpump for 06a blocks only, please email us about kits for 058 blocks)

MK1 02A 02J TRANSMISSION MOUNT KIT

Laser Cut and zinc plated with an integrated cable boss for our 02a/j cable clutch conversion includes front and rear mount plates (uses stock style mk1 rubber mounts ; not included)

02j will REQUIRE the reverse switch to be removed if you are using the cable clutch conversion kit, a plug will be provided for you.  However if you are using the Hydro MK1 Kit  you can keep the reverse switch and a smooth mount bracket will be provided without the cable stop.

02a kits will come with a shim as the mounting face is smaller, please put a note in your order if you are using an 02a trans.

MK1 SHIFT LINKAGE – optional

These give you a great alternative to trying to fit the cumbersome cable box into your mk1. No cutting or welding required, you keep the stock linkage in the tunnel. No console modification, no drilling holes in your firewall or dealing with pinched cables from the very sharp firewall bend on the mk1 cars. Shortens the throw over the cable setup.

Mk1 Hydraulic Clutch Kit – optional

Our kit comes with the backing plate, wilwood .75 master cylinder, and an OE 02A slave cylinder (will fit 02j transmissions as well, 02a uses a threaded fitting where as the 02j uses an oring fitting)    02m users will receive a threaded bleeder adapter which will allow you to use the OEM slave/release bearing.

Mk1 Mk2 02A 02J CABLE CLUTCH CONVERSION Kit – optional


This kit uses an OEM Eurovan cable clutch actuator, the cable is an overbuilt racing cable, its longer length allows you to tuck the cable under the transmission and swing around starter.

* You need to make sure your pedal cluster has been properly supported, this cable system is going to pull harder than your old 020 cable did.

Mk1 Core Support Brace AKA "Torque Tamer" – optional

This little bad boy will keep your engine where its supposed to be and your delicate core support from folding under the pressure of your new B.A. swap you just dumped in the bay.  .25" steel is laser cut, bent, and then welded to create this core support abuse prevention device.  We can powder coat them if you want, but otherwise they come RAW STEEL, so flash rust could be present, a simple scuff with some sandpaper will have them ready for you to prime and paint.

*Install note, if your horns are mounted to the core support, they and the bracket they attach to will need to be moved.

Digital to Analog Tach Adapter Module with Cylinder Converter Combo – optional

This is a "magic" box !! Its a dual purpose unit and has 2 modules in it, digital>analog + cylinder conversion. It's used for many applications, putting a VR6/1.8t/TDI/2.0 into a mk1/2 and retaining your factory cluster.  (However if you wanted to drop an ls1 into your mk1 and drive the stock tach, this will do it for you)

This module will allow your factory cluster to read the correct rpm of the engine. It will save time on not having to do a dash swap or retrofitting the 6 cylinder cluster and allow you to maintain that stock sleeper look inside your mk1 or mk2.

Wiring is simple, connect the labeled wires to

  • Ground - Any clean grounding source
  • Power - 12v Switched Power, 5a fuse
  • Tach Input - This will be from your ECU or Coil
  • Tach Output - Connect this to your old coil wire, or directly to the back of your tach.

100mm 02a 02j Axle Cups / Driveshaft Flanges – optional

Swapping a 1.8t or vr6 02j transmission into your mk1, mk2, or mk3? You will want to ditch the 108mm flanges found on the 1.8t and vr6 transmissions in favor of these 100mm versions.  This will allow you to use the 85up stock 100mm axles for your swap.  These driveshaft flanges are used, they are inspected to make sure the splines are good.

Mk1 DBW Pedal Adapter Bracket

 

A simple solution is usually best, the mk1 DBW pedal adapter is just that.  Its simple to install, no cutting or drilling into your floors or firewall, includes all attachment hardware for the bracket to the body and pedal to bracket.

1/1/16 -- Baseplate is slotted now for further adjust ability.

2/1/17-- Some customers have had to "adjust" the angle of the pedal to fit their comfort in the cockpit, this is simply done by moving the bracket and pedal as a unit once its bolted to the flange on the mk1 floor pan.
