Bundle one of our radiators into a complete cooling package:

  • Radiators are a dual pass design, all aluminum construction,

Our radiators are designed to cool off even the hottest swap, when swapping a vr6 or 1.8t into a mk1 or mk2 we recommend running the 77c fan switch unless you have a dedicated hot lap car, or like to sit in traffic in the Sahara in which case the 70c is for you..

 

The intercooler radiator comes with a dual fan and control setup, if you want powdercoating or weld on options choose them below.

Fan Control System

This is a fan control system for any 2 wire thermo switch system (mostly used in mk1 and mk2 cars without AC)  includes 2 temperature options for fan control 70-77C or 77-82C. If you have a car thats prone to running hot even with a performance radiator, you will want the cooler switch, keep in mind that if you are using a Motronic or other closed loop fuel/spark control system you will want to make sure you can get your engine warm enough to make the closed loop system, otherwise you will be running around rich and fouling out plugs.

 

Install Is Easy -

Battery Power - Purple (use a fuse if you dont use the OEM fused wire)

Fan Power - Yellow - connect to the positive pole of your fan

Ground - Large brown to the Thermo Switch

Relay Ground - Small brown to the thermo switch

S&P Radiator Fan Shrouds

Custom built fan shroud for our radiators, with fan/fans included. If you are ordering it as a package with one of our radiators we will already have drilled and mounted the fan and shroud to the radiator to be shipped as a unit.

Please allow 5-7 days for building, shipping if the item was "in stock" once shipped, delivery should be 2-3 days.  Longer lead times if you are having or powder coated unit built. Fan sizes are based on the radiator you choose, we will always install the largest fan we can in the space we have.

  • Mk1 Vr6 radiators can use a dual shroud for 12v motors, 24v gets very crowded with the alternator on the second fan,
  • All shrouds are gasketed to the core to help improve fan efficiency
  • 12" fans are rated at 1650 CFM@12v
  • 8" fans are rated at 950 CFM@12v

Mk1 Intercooler Radiator Combination

We designed these units for 1.8t, TDI, and turbo 8v,16v motors.  The radiator is a 21x7x2.5" Fatty radiator, with our standard dual pass design, it includes a factory threaded port for our VW style fan switch.  The intercooler is a bar and plate 21x3x2.5" core, a phenolic spacer separates the 2 cores, keeping the heat transfer to a minimum.  The overall size of the system is 24 x 10.75x 2.5" allowing you to mount it UNDER the core support on a mk1, giving you more room for log style manifolds, or just to clear some space in an already crowded bay.

Our calculations with our fan control system, shroud and fan assembly, this radiator and intercooler is capable of maintaining performance up to 275 HP (air flow on a mk1 with a full bumper can be restricted, providing adequate airflow is crucial for the radiator portion as it sits low in the ca) .  The intercooler has 2" inlets and outlets, coming out at a 45 degree angle to clear the headlights on a late westy car.

The radiator uses "feet" not pins, so you can mount it anywhere you are willing to bolt it down. We recommend a nutsert or rivnut installed into the core support base for mounting.

We are offering right *(passenger) side and left *(drivers) side coolant options,  right hand would be favorable for cars with external waterpumps (mk3 and older 4cyl) while left hand will work better for those with internal waterpumps (mk4 and newer 4cyl ).  *Assuming LHD vehicles.

Weld on options

These are options to have welded onto your intake pipes, intercoolers, and other pipe kits..

 

This must be purchased with the item you want it welded to, the cost does include the port, or flange required.. you dont need to purchase one separately.. if you are ordering for an intercooler or have specific instructions for a location they need to be included in your order notes.

  • Mk4 Maf - All mk4 based maf
  • MK4 Map - 1.8t and TDI MAP
  • Mk3 Maf - ABA - VR6 Maf
  • Mk3 IAT/MAP - G60 Co-pot, MK3 TDI IAT
  • CCV - Any CCV tube, 5/8" OD or 16mm is standard, you can request any size up to 1"
    • you can also use this for a boost port, or any port you need that is under 1" and tube based
  • 02 Sensor - add an extra 02 port to your downpipe or test pipe
